‘The Might and Fright Short Film Festival’ is a unique forum for emerging talent to showcase their original short films in the comic book and horror genres. Naturally, the festival is held in conjunction with the Long Beach Comic and Horror Con, on October 29th and 30th. Genre fans and filmmakers will be positively psyched to hear that the festival has announced this year’s panel of judges for ‘Might and Fright’. The judges feature faces familiar to genre fans, including Jonah Hex comics and “Immortals” graphic novel writer Jimmy Palmiotti, “Metalocalypse” and Venture Bros director Jon Schnepp, as well as “300“, “Terminator: The Sarah Conner Chronicles” and “Game Of Thrones” actress Lena Headey. Los Angeles, CA, May 9, 2011. ‘Might Fright Film Festival’ is proud to announce this year’s panel of judges. The list includes Lena Headey, Jon Schnepp, Jimmy Palmiotti, Brianna Evigan and Jim Krueger. It is definitely an all-star lineup of people coming from the worlds of Comics, TV and Film. We believe that the group of judges we have assembled for the inaugural Film Festival shows that this will be a fun-filled weekend that the fans can really support with their creative and innovative entries. Lena Headey is a British actress who is best known for her appearances in “The Brothers Grimm” (2005), “300” (2006), and the series “Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles” (2008). She currently stars in HBO’s “Game of Thrones” (2011).
About Might and Fright Film Festival: MAD Event Management, Long Beach Comic & Horror Con, and Comic Book Sunday! are proud to announce ‘Might and Fright Short Film Festival 2011’ to be held Saturday & Sunday, October 29-30, 2011 at the Long Beach Convention Center (LBCC) in downtown Long Beach.
This announcement comes on the heels of the second year’s show at the Long Beach Convention Center. It will be added to the slate of ever-growing events built into the third year’s show in 2011. This won’t just be another Short Film Festival since we will focus on showcasing the best films out there with a comic book or horror feel to it. We want to find the best short films from across the country that concentrate on genre material and give them a home to be screened in front of an audience that will appreciate the work.
